Health Insurance

A health insurance plan covers medical expenses when the policyholder is hospitalized, and also reimburses the medical expenses and provides day-care hospitalization. Health insurance plans do not require the policyholder to pay cash for treatment if he or she becomes ill and gets admitted in the network hospital.

Types Of Health Insurance

Plans which provide coverage to a single individual.

Family floater health insurance policies, which include the policyholder, spouse, dependent children, and parents. One policy covers the entire family on a floater basis. The insured sum is divided up among the family members.

‘Top-up’ health plans provide additional coverage at low rates of premiums. If individuals feel their coverage is inadequate, they can purchase these top-up insurance plans to increase coverage. There is usually a deductible limit under these plans. In the event that a claim exceeds the deductible, the claim is settled from top-up plans.

Major critical illness health insurance plans cover substantial coverage of major critical illnesses. Upon diagnosis of any covered illness, the policyholder will receive the sum insured. The sum insured can then be used for advanced treatments or for any other financial commitments.

Plans that cover senior citizens in their older age groups. Aged 61 and above are eligible for senior citizen health insurance. The premium amount under these plans are affordable and comparable to the premiums offered by other health insurance plans.

Group Health Insurance is generally taken by Company, Firm, trust, society, community or a group of people for health insurance protection of their employees, members and their family members.
